If you are in desperate need of a haircut, color, trim, or any or all of the above, you may be thinking about scheduling yourself an appointment at the hair salon. However, given the current COVID-19 pandemic, you might be hesitant to go in for an appointment. You do not have to avoid the hair salon because of the pandemic. There are ways to go in to get your hair done while maintaining your safety and well-being (as well as those of the people around you). Get to know more about going to the hair salon during COVID-19. Then, you can be sure to schedule your hair salon appointment as soon as possible.

Social Distancing Still Applies

While your stylist will have to be closer to you than 6 feet apart during the cutting and styling of your hair, social distancing will still apply when it comes to other customers. For example, many salons will stagger appointments so clients are not close together in their chairs or at the hair washing sinks. They will keep people at least 6 feet apart at all times.

Masks Should Be Worn

Most places today, meaning states and businesses alike, require masks to be worn while in the hair salon. This goes for patrons and for stylists. This will keep everyone as safe as possible while in closer proximity to one another.

Be sure that you come in with a mask on as they will likely not be able to provide one for you. Cloth masks are perfectly acceptable, though paper surgical masks would suffice as well.

Be Prepared to Have to Book Well in Advance

Because of the many rules and regulations on places like hair salons (or imposed by the salons themselves), there may be a backlog of customers wanting to get their hair cut and done. The social distancing measures and the hygienic measures needed to be taken between clients means fewer clients can be seen in a day.

As such, when you call to schedule your appointment, be prepared to book well in advance, maybe even weeks in advance. This will help you manage your expectations when it comes to getting into the hair salon and will also help you to plan ahead if you have a big event you want a special hairstyle for.

Knowing these facts about going to a hair salon during COVID-19, you can be sure that you get yourself a mask and get your appointment scheduled as soon as possible.
